We have an integrated therapeutic approach based on the cross- fertilization of child development and psychodynamics. We work with a wide variety of children who have serious disorders of development, including language, learning and emotional problems. We work inten sively with both child and parents, as the needs and adjustment of the parents must be synchronized with those of the children. We use a sample case of a child referred for language delay to illustrate the particular approach we have found successful with such children over many years.
