Six guiding principles form the basis for clinical management: (1) the use of an indirect phonological approach; (2) employing a phono logical process approach; (3) the use of direct fluency modification tech niques; (4) the concurrent application of phonological and fluency principles; (5) parental involvement; and (6) the use of a group setting. Specific guidelines for selection of target processes and target sounds are dis cussed together with fluency modification techniques.
